The smartphone shoulder bag is very useful on a daily basis - I use it every day, but at last the fabric has frayed and there is a hole in it!
I was so happy to be able to wear my upcycled, renewed kimono casually that I was carrying it with me to work, on holidays and wherever I went, at home and abroad, but it was damaged by so much use... (see blog "Himizuya in London" )
As it is one of my very favourite artworks, I thought it would be a shame (‘Mottainai’) to throw it away, so I decided to upcycle the "upcycled" piece.
Upcycled and brought back to life twice, the mini pouch also matches the new smartphone shoulder bag. I feel more and more attached to the mini pouch, as I feel that the memories of the first smartphone shoulder bag, which I went to many different places with, are still there as it is.

A new smartphone shoulder bag and a mini pouch upcycled from an old smartphone shoulder bag side by side.
When I first produced this smartphone shoulder bag, I never thought I would be upcycling it for a second time, but I was reminded that upcycling is still a nice thing to do, even if the shape changes, but it remains with you.
We hope that everyone who picks up a Himizuya item will be able to use it for a long time to come, although we don't mean until it falls to pieces...
