By the way, we did 'Doyo Boshi' for the kimono in this summer.
When kimonos were worn as everyday clothes back then, Doyo Boshi was done on Saturdays in summer (usually from July to August) to dry out the insects. Today, such scene can't seen anymore as we look more and more for efficiency or convenience.
Doyo Boshi was probably a time-consuming and painstaking way of taking care of kimonos, but it could last long and stay in good condition because of the proper care.
We picked up the brand new Oshima Tsumugi Kimono for the new item. It looks that the Kimono was never worn as the basting thread is still attached. The pattern is very traditional "Akina Rose", plaid pattern with bamboo basket. The shiny black textile is absolutely beautiful. I carefully lined and made all items so as not to spoil the supple feel and texture of kimono. How about to go out in the coming season with a chic bag made of mud dyed Oshima silk, which is resistant to rain and wrinkles.
