There was so much going on in autumn this year that there was no time to relax.
And it is already December!!
We have produced hundreds of ‘Sukiya Bukuro’ in our upcycling works. This time, we produced a ‘Kaishi-Ire and Kashikiri ire’ from the same kimono fabric as the ‘Sukiya-bukuro’, taking into account the valuable opinions of our customers.
Even if the materials are the same, if the kimono pattern is different, it can be created with a different look and feel.
Kaishi ire holder are generally 145 x 175 mm for women and 175 x 205 mm for men, and Kaishi paper is folded in half and carried in a kaishi ire holder. We wanted to create a design that is unique on the market! So, we created a number of prototypes. Of course, it was designed to be put into a Himizuya's sukiya bukuro, so the width, height, depth, etc., were all original.
The most delicate process is the lining and the padding. Even for the same Oshima tsumugi or crepe, depending on the type and age of the kimono, we have to check the condition of the kimono one by one by holding it in our hands. Various ideas come to mind, but when we actually start the work, it sometimes develops differently from what we expected.
We will complete the project in the best possible means and way so that it can become part of the life of the person who picks it up!
Sukiya-bukuro, Kaishi ire and Kashi kiri sets are used together. It gives a luxurious look to the outfit.
The design is useful not only as a tea ceremony Kaishi ire holder, but also for cacual style, and can be used for a variety of purposes as a holder for small objects.
We will be uploading the ‘Kaishi ire (paper holder) and Kashi kiri ( pastry cutter)’ that can be produced using the kimono fabric of the sukiya bag that we have been upcycling at the workshop on Creema, so if you would like to see the new items, please visit our website!
