The hot weather continues — I hope you are all keeping well. It’s been a while since I last updated the blog.
Today, I’d like to introduce the small vanity case I’ve been making in recent times in response to requests from customers, including some new designs.
I had been creating prototype pieces using materials salvaged from Taishō-era antique kimonos that I had taken apart and preserved.
The small vanity case sold in our Creema shop are used for a variety of purposes.
Business card holders, coin purses, jewellery cases, and more — the sizes we’ve created based on customer feedback have been very well received.

It is embellished with vibrant vermilion, colorful traditional Japanese flowers and classical patterns of good fortune.

A bright orange color has been used for the lining.

This is a nishiki-sha chirimen fabric featuring a vibrant floral pattern in bright orange, yellow and blue scattered across a deep purple background.

The lining is in an eye-catching vermilion red.

For the outer fabric, we used a plain, subdued tsukesage rinzu to evoke the ‘ura-masari’ effect.

We have combined an exotic floral arabesque pattern with a magenta-pink background.
It is precisely because this is such a special fabric, having travelled through the ages, that it has been crafted into a luxurious, one-of-a-kind piece.
We hope you will enjoy the sense of something special that makes your heart leap every time you take it out of your bag, the warmth unique to handcrafted items, and the modern aesthetic unique to antiques.
