The mornings and evenings are getting colder and colder, and we can sense the change of season.
I was kept busy taking part in events in autumn, but before I realised it, the end of the year was gradually approaching....
At Himizuya, we are working on the theme of bringing good old kimono culture into modern life, and we have been working on this for many years,
This time, we upcycled kimono fabric from a Hōmongi ‘visiting’ kimono (a formal kimono with a continuous pattern from the shoulders to the hem) that had been airing out in the summer, and produced a matching set of sukiya bukuro, kaishi ire and kashikiri holder for use at tea ceremonies.

The work makes the most of the hand-painted yuzen floral pattern, while allowing the wearer to enjoy the soft luster of the silk fabric.
Whether at a tea ceremony or on an outing, three pieces in the same pattern will give you a feeling of elegance and warmth that will bring back memories of the kimono every time you use them. Of course, you will also feel the quality of a one-off item.
This is a popular pattern, with many customers purchasing multiple pieces in the same pattern. We highly recommend it to anyone who is thinking of buying a new piece for the New Year. Please take a look at our shop to see more of our work.
